Cullen is 1 Year Old

Much has happened in the last year.  It is so hard for me to believe that Cullen has grown so much, physically and mentally.  He has gone from sleeping all the time to crawling everywhere and talking a lot.  Words that he says now are:
  • Dada
  • Mama
  • Boo-kkk (Boo Kitty)
  • O-kkk (Okay)
  • Gocle (tickle)
  • Coowen (Cullen)
  • Ksss (Kiss)
  • Ug (Hug)
  • Bapf (Bath)
  • Essss (Yes)
He has not said "no" yet.  I am thankful for that.  He smiles at everybody.  He loves people.  It is easy to make him laugh, sometimes even when he is crying. His favorite thing to do is splash and second favorite thing is crawling.  He loves pushing his walker.  He likes to eat cheese, tomatoes, anything with tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese, tortillas, bread, cheerios, bananas, apple sauce, apple juice, and fruit and oatmeal.  He doesn't like to drink his milk, but I make him do it anyway.  He goes to bed at 9, wakes up at 8, and takes two 1.5 hour naps a day.  He goes to play group with lots of other babies.  He does pretty well with his friends but occasionally gives them love pats on the face.  He dances every time he hears music and sometimes when there is no music at all.  He loves to go to the aquarium and watch the fish swimming.  He had only one cold in his first year.  He nursed for 11.5 months.  He didn't mind switching to formula, not even a little bit. He dresses up and plays Living History with us once a month.  He likes to sing.  He tries to do the motions to "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and he claps every time I sing "If You're Happy and You Know It."  His favorite book is God Made You Special, a Veggie Tales book with a button that sings a song.  He likes to cuddle when he is sleepy or he feels bad. He sits with us during church and does a pretty good job of keeping quiet, especially if there are cheerios.  For his birthday, he got money, clothes, a swimming pool, and lots of toys.

His 1 year stats are:
  • Head: 42 cm, 47 %
  • Height: 30.2 in, 74%
  • Weight: 20 lb 6 oz, 35% (up from 15% at 9 months)
I love that boy. I am proud that he is ours.  Thanks be to God for giving him to us.
